All Grown Up

What did you want to be when you were a child? Can you remember back to that? What did you want for yourself when you were all grown up? I wanted to be an actress from the time I was very young..I’m talking singing, “I’m a little teapot” at 6 years old for my family and friends. In college I got my degree in Theater Arts and Speech. I was gloriously talented if I do say so myself (vanity will get you nowhere Mia). Because once I tried my hand at acting, professionally, I was about to learn humility. And fast. In my major in college I got straight A’s, often struggling with other courses like Science or Math. While in college, I got a small part in an independent film (not worth mentioning the name because it did next to nothing at the box office), although I did get to act alongside Frank Vincent. Next I was cast in an off Broadway show called “Hell’s Kitchen”. Great story, promised to be a hit…but it lost it’s funding and never happened. I was becoming discouraged..suddenly I found it dreadfully hard to face casting call after casting call only to be rejected for one reason or another. Looking back I just didn’t have the self esteem or anywhere near the amount of self love I needed to pursue my dream with passion. Good news, all is not lost folks. At age 23, I married the love of my life and we are still married to this day, happily for 30 years. My life with him has been my true purpose and we have an amazing son, who is 23 years old and thriving. I would not trade my family and lifetime of love with them for an Academy Award. They are the greatest prize I could have ever won in this life….and so it is! Love and peace, Mia Bella 🙂
