Getting Unstuck….

Have you ever felt “stuck in the muck? As if you were trapped in a bad life situation ruining your ability to feel happy? I have. Perhaps its a job, a marriage, some out of balance family relationship or even needing to lose weight that is holding you down. Whatever it may be, I’m here to tell you that there is a way out. And I’m not suggesting it’s an easy way out. Nope. Because you must do your work, the inner work needed to figure out what are the best choices for you and your life. For me it always begins as I learn to let go of what is toxic in my life. You know, all that crazy “stuff” that is standing in the way of peace, better health and happiness. I’m not writing any of this to try and tell you what to do…because that is always your choice. No one else can tell you what to do with your life to be happier. That is between you, body and soul. I’ve found the first step toward real and lasting change is learning to let go. Then the filling up that new space with good things. Positive friendships, making new happy memories or just plain writing in my journal everyday. I always have to remind myself to start small and then progress to bigger things. I tend to be a “big picture” thinker and I’m also very achievement oriented, so if I’m not being really aware and focused, I’ll push too hard too fast. And I’ve had to learn the hard way that isn’t going to get me the results I want in the end. I do know one thing for sure, I am always the only one responsible for my own life. I have to do the work..nobody else can do it for me. Mahatma Gandhi is famous for saying “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. Sounds easy right? It’s not…it takes hard work, no magic potions, no miracle cures…just plain old fashioned hard work. Maybe it’s learning how to use new tools or techniques, training or making a commitment that you know you cannot break easily. And we all want our hard work to pay off, believing that lady luck will shine upon us for our good efforts. Start today and “Let go” of the things that are holding you back. For everything practical and rational I’ve just said, there is also magic in letting go. And maybe it’s just my love of creative writing, my spirituality combined with my imagination but I do believe that once we truly learn to let go and surrender, we are much like a lotus flower finally making it’s way to the surface, bursting into the light where it can finally bloom. Namaste and blessings, Mia Bella 🙂
